This is an archived website, available until June 2027. We hope it will inspire people to continue to care for and protect the South West Peak area and other landscapes. Although the South West Peak Landscape Partnership ended in June 2022, the area is within the Peak District National Park. Enquiries can be made to customer.service@peakdistrict.gov.uk

The 5-year South West Peak Landscape Partnership, 2017-2022, was funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.

Unlocking the Secrets of Errwood Hall

Posted on 25 November 2021

You may have seen publicity recently for a proposed interactive augmented reality app for Errwood Hall in the Goyt Valley, such as this article in the Buxton Advertiser. Well, our very own Cultural Heritage Officer, Catherine Parker Heath, will be delivering this project and she needs your help!

You can help in a number of ways.

  • As a SUPPORTER – The Peak District National Park Foundation is promoting this project as part of the Big Give Christmas Challenge and is asking the public to donate over one week starting on the 30th November.  The Big Give has recently released a promotional video, which explains a bit more what it is all about. The PDNP Foundation will share a link across its social media platforms - @pdnp_foundation and Peak District Foundation Facebook - enabling you to donate from the 30th November onwards, so if you want to support the project in this way then look out for it!
  • As an AMBASSADOR – you can be an ambassador for the project through promoting the Big Give campaign before and during the campaign week by sharing the Peak District National Park Foundation and South West Peak Landscape Partnership’s Facebook posts and Tweets  to your friends and family and encouraging them to donate - @pdnp_foundation and Peak District Foundation Facebook, @SouthWestPeak and SWP Facebook. You can then also provide updates to the wider public during development and promote it once it is up and running!
  • As a CONTRIBUTOR – If you would like to give your time, skills and knowledge and get involved in helping to create content for the app, then you can be a contributor. This will involve doing research, bringing material together, writing copy, taking video clips, carrying out visitor surveys to gauge how successful it is, and demonstrating the app once it is launched. If you do want to contribute in this way then sign up to volunteer (that is, if you are not already a SWP volunteer) and register your interest on the Unlocking the Secrets of Errwood Hall opportunity. Catherine will then be in touch early in the New Year to get the ball rolling.

You can, of course, help in one, two or all of the ways outlined above.

We look forward to hearing from you!
